Daily Reading : Philippians 2:3, James 3:16
Key Verse Philippians 2:3: ”Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.”
Selfishness is one of man’s faulty characters that can stimulate disunity and loss of compassion towards one another. Unfortunately, there are children of God that possess this character being no different with those of nonbelievers. We have seen many wars, murders, and divorces and they are happening because of human egos and holier-than-thou attitude. One should starts and continuously trains him/herself to remove selfishness, to grow compassion and to prioritize others before him/herself. Ministering is one of many ways to practice humility and the willingness to sacrifice to foster a solid and strong community that lives in harmony. When we, community of God’s children have rid of selfish desires, He will bless us abundantly.
Humility will allow us to prioritize others and this will ward off disputes and breakups from happening in the first place.
