To Live Trusting the Lord

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.” Jeremiah 17:7

There is a song that says, “I need Thee, oh I need Thee. Every hour I need Thee. Oh, bless me now, my Savior. I come to Thee.” Are we aware that we cannot live without the Lord? And that we need to depend on Him every day?

Trusting the Lord is not an easy thing to do for those who often rely on themselves and do everything with their own strength; especially since we are now in a world that is advanced – there are all kinds of facilities and conveniences. Everything can be bought and owned as long as we can afford it.

Jeremiah 17:7 reveals that trusting the Lord is something the Lord desires. Therefore, there are promises He will fulfill for those who trust in Him.

The promise stated in Jeremiah 17:7 is the Lord’s blessings. These blessings include wisdom in making decisions, strength, breakthrough, peace and joy, a situation reversal, and expansion from the Lord. Other than these, successes and financial blessings will also follow.

A characteristic of those who put their trust in the Lord is that they surrender all of their hope and life in the Lord’s hands. Because of this, they will go through life peacefully and be free from stress. They believe that the Lord leads their lives, and whatever happens, it is all in the knowledge of the Lord. They are sure that they will receive the Lord’s help at the right time.

Those who trust in the Lord will not worry about the needs in their lives. They believe that the Lord will provide all of their needs – things that never crossed their minds or entered their hearts. If the Lord takes care of the flowers in the fields and the birds in the air, He will care for the lives of His children even more. Matthew 10:29-31 says: “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”

We are living in the evil days where people are becoming more wicked and everything is headed to destruction. Almost every day we hear of natural disasters, accidents, shootings, murders, and other evil crimes. Therefore, let us trust in the Lord fully and rely only on the Lord, not others. God bless.
