“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” John 14:16
FIRST PENTECOST. Just as promised by the Lord, 120 people who were obedient and faithful waited for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem. They were then filled and gifted with the Holy Spirit for the first time in the Upper Room.
The Holy Spirit became a source for all believers of Christ. The Holy Spirit guided and led them to the truth of God’s Word. He reminded them of the Word and corrected them of their wrongdoings. Only the Holy Spirit can put off our fleshly desires.
As for the Church, the body of Christ, the Holy Spirit continues to guide the Church. The Holy Spirit is the one who led the Church to truly understand the will of God. The Holy Spirit also empowered the body of Christ with spiritual gifts so that it may grow into the perfect knowledge and likeness of Christ.
SECOND PENTECOST. There was advancement centuries later. From the church’s perspective, the Holy Spirit had a big role in the advancement of the understanding of God’s Word – the Bible was made into a book, there was healing and etc. From the world’s perspective, there was advancement of knowledge, industry, technology, communication, psychology, education and etc. But, the advancement of the world was not the goal the Holy Spirit initiated. The world’s advancement was a result and a tool of the Holy Spirit in pushing the Church to respond to the Father’s will.
The second Pentecost in Azusa Street; the fire of the Holy Spirit spread and quickly reached the ends of the earth. The restoration of the role of ministry also took place quicker than previous times and the five fold ministry was in full operation doing its jobs as it is written in Ephesians 4.
The Holy Spirit also gave revelation about the Restoration of Praise and Worship to the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit trained the church to reach a certain level of quality. This is to prepare the church to become the bride of Christ.
THIRD PENTECOST. In the third Pentecost, believers are at the end of the race. Everyone is passionately exerting their energy, creativity and skills. The great harvest of souls must soon take place. The bride should be ready and the glorious moment of meeting in the heavenly places will soon be evident. The end of the history of God’s family will soon come. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is leading all of us to the last and greatest harvest of souls and to the second coming of Jesus. Prepare yourelf for the third outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
