The Bride of Christ

Matthew 25:10: “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

We, who believe in Jesus and live according to His will, are the brides of Christ. The verse above says that those who can enter the wedding are those who are ready, not the ones who are still away buying things or doing something else, and therefore made them not present when the groom comes.

There are a few requirements to enter the wedding of the Lamb of God. First, is to have a white and a clean gown – spotless. The gown represents our lives. So, don’t contaminate our lives with sin. Revelation 19:8 says, “And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright…” The fine linen is the righteous acts of the holy people. Don’t contaminate our lives with the pleasures of this world; for example, evil acts, sexual immorality, adultery, jealousy, bitterness, revelries, hate, vengeance, anger and etc.

Next, we have to follow the teachings that are correct and biblical. Mark 7:7-8 says, “And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. ’For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men…” Many churches prioritize doctrines rather than the truth of God’s Word. Doctrines are teachings outside of the Bible or Biblical teachings that are mixed with the teachings of men and traditions of the ancestors. To follow Biblical teachings, the entire Bible has to be practiced and we cannot pick and choose only the ones we feel it’s correct based on what we want. Not one part of the Word can be eliminated.

Another requirement is that we must have enough oil / be filled. Oil speaks about the Holy Spirit. If our hearts are filled with the living Word and the fire of the Holy Spirit, then when the groom comes (the Lord Jesus), we can hear His voice and go together with Him into the wedding feast that has been prepared.

The Lord Jesus is coming soon. Use this short time by living righteously and building an intimacy with the Lord. Don’t be like the 5 foolish virgins who were not ready when the groom comes and were left behind. Maranatha, the Lord Jesus is coming soon.

God bless us all.
