“… for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.” (John 16:7)
Now the Lord Jesus is in heaven and one of the things He is doing is sending the Holy Spirit for us. The role of Holy Spirit is to give us power to become witnesses of Jesus, Acts 1:8. After the Holy Spirit came upon the Lord’s disciples 2000 years ago, these things took place. First, Peter preached for less than 4 minutes and 3000 people repented and were baptized. Second, signs and wonders happened. Peter and John were used by the Lord greatly to reveal miracles like those Jesus performed 2000 years ago. Third, the lifestyle of the church changed. They became diligent in the Apostles’ teachings and fellowship. They often gathered together to break the bread and pray. They always rejoiced, they were generous, and they loved praising the Lord. They liked to give and none of them were in lack. They were liked by many and every day the number of people who repented increased. Fourth, shakings took place and they started to experience persecution. This resulted in the change of paradigm on their ministry. At that time, they believed that only the Jews were saved. But, they were surprised seeing Cornelius, who was not a Jew, believed in Jesus, was baptized and spoke in the spirit. At the end, they understood that salvation is not only for the Jews, but also for other nations. All of these events happened during the first Pentecost. 100 years from then, 70% of the world that was known at the time, areas under Roman Empire, became Christians.
If there was the first Pentecost, there was also the second Pentecost. The second Pentecost took place in Azusa Street, Los Angeles. A servant of God named William Seymour was used by the Lord greatly and it started in 1906. In 1909, William Seymour prophesied 100 years in the future, the Holy Spirit will be poured out far greater, more powerful, and more tremendous compared to the second Pentecost. This is the third Pentecost. These days, the fire of the third Pentecost is burning!
The third Pentecost is a season of the greatest and the last harvest of souls before Jesus comes for the second time. Joel 2:28-32 says that children, young people and the older generation will be used by the Lord mightily. Let us prepare ourselves because God will use us in amazing ways these days for the greatest and the last harvest. It is happening now. God bless.
