Blessing in Difficulty

1 Corinthians 10:13:”  No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. “

Indonesia is a country that has the most volcanoes in the world. A volcano eruption is a scary thing for many people because it produces volcanic ash that is toxic for the health and the volcanic earthquake can result in the destruction of homes and buildings.

Behind every disaster from volcano eruptions, there are actually blessings that may be enjoyed by the people who live around the volcano. Thousands of sand that were ejected from the volcano can be sold and this gives living income for the population. The volcano ash that covers the garden, field, and farm, helps the growth of the land in the area. Therefore, the people living there do not have to worry about buying fertilizers for their produce. From this point of view, a volcano is not seen as a natural disaster, but as natural resources that benefit the population and the community.

Many of God’s children see problems only from the negative side. Because of this, they often become stressed and discouraged. If this happens, they cannot see the good/useful things behind their problems. Even more so, they cannot see a way out to overcome those problems.

As God’s children, we must believe that God allows various problems and sufferings to happen in our lives for our own good at the end – that is so that our faith is trained to have a strong and resilient mentality. The Lord will not allow problems/sufferings/difficulties that are beyond what we are able to bear (1 Corinthians 10:13).

The Lord is a faithful God. He will give a way out for those who believe and love Him. Those who are willing and patient in suffering will experience blessings in the midst of their problems and come out victorious.

Romans 8:28 says, ‘And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.’ Believe that no matter how big our problems may be, they will all work together for good to those who love the Lord. God bless.
