A Pure Heart

Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits.

We will praise someone who appears clean or has clean house or car; it is pleasant to see. It is not wrong to do this, but as God’s children, other than taking care of our outer cleanliness, we must also have a clean heart and mind.

Ezekiel 36:26-27 says, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

The verse in Ezekiel 36:26-27 shows that we must ask the Lord to give us a new heart and ask for the Spirit of God to keep dwelling in our hearts so that we can become believers who have a pure heart and obey His commands.

If we have asked for a new heart, then our responsibility is to guard our hearts to be pure by making a habit to be honest and sincere. Throw away any feelings of disappointment, anger, hatred, jealousy and bitterness.

Other than that, to guard our hearts to be pure, we must do the Word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to correct us for every wrongdoing and negativity that may appear in our hearts.

Don’t let any sin (lies, bitterness, jealousy, pride and etc.) dwell in our hearts and make us become dull. Those who are dull will not be able to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit that corrects and they will not feel wrong when they commit a sin.

These days, as Jesus’ second coming is approaching closer, we must pay attention to our lives more. We must always live in repentance and do our part so that we can have a heart and mind that are pleasing to God.

Let us be brides of Christ who are ready to be raptured when the sound of the trumpet is heard. God bless.
