A Future Full of Hope

Jeremiah 29:11: “ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Life is a journey. There is no blessing or success that comes naturally. Christians and non-Christians have to do their part to receive blessing and success in their lives. What differentiates the two is that Christians have a guarantee because their blessing and success come from the Lord, and not only from their effort. Jeremiah 29:11 says that God’s plan for His children is a plan of peace and not of evil. He will give a good future for those who believe in Him.

Maybe there are those among us who are feeling discouraged at the moment because it feels like there is no way out, or maybe we have been praying and putting an effort but we cannot see any results. The future seems dark and there seem to be no good changes. Don’t let ourselves be oppressed with a negative perception or be affected by our negative surrounding. Let us rise up and do things that can be good turning points.

First, we must have faith. Believe that the Lord will never have plans of evil for His children. God’s Word says, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:11. If we have faith, then we will receive positive things. This is according to the Word of God that says “according to your faith, let it be done to you.”

Next, declare positive and good things to happen in your life. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” This means when we declare positive and good things, the results/fruits will also be positive and good. Likewise the opposite, if we often declare negative things, then the fruits produced will also be negative. Declare positive things, like the Word of God, and lift up praise and worship that magnifies the Lord. The devil will flee from the lives of God’s children whose lives are built upon positivity, praise, and worship.

Although the condition of the world is becoming worse and we often hear the terrifying news, let us continue to walk with God. Believe that a future with the Lord is the most beautiful and wonderful future. Don’t stray to the right or to the left. Keep relying fully on the Lord and live by doing His will. God bless.
