VIGILANT HEART

I READ: Matthew 15: 18-20a, Jeremiah 17: 9, Proverbs 4: 23

Life is said to emanate from the heart. Whatever is in our hearts, will be visible from the way, style and attitude of our lives. That is why we are reminded to keep our hearts vigilant. A heart that is not vigilant, can be very dangerous because out of the heart comes evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, thefts, false witness and blasphemies, Matthew 15:19. When we repent and accept Christ, we have been transformed into new creations and our hearts are renewed. With that new heart, we can then approach God with a firm faith and sincerity. We need a sincere heart to maintain unity wherever we are placed by God. Have a gentle heart, a forgiving heart, a heart full of thanksgiving, a joyful
heart, and a heart full of love which you can then radiate as a blessing to others.

I DECLARE: Ezekiel 36:26 – I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take a heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
