TO INTERCEDE

I READ: Genesis 18:16 – 33

When Abraham found out that Sodom and Gomorrah was going to be punished because of all of the sins committed and because the people did not know the Lord, he started to intercede for that city. Abraham prayed and bargained with God so that the city could be saved from punishment. Without ceasing, he prayed and continued to bargain with God. Even though in the end the city was punished, Lot’s family (Abraham’s nephew) was saved because of Abraham’s prayers. The Lord ordered his angel to save Lot’s family and to bring them out of the city. When we intercede for souls, God will answer and save them.

I DECLARE: 1 Thessalonians 5:17 – Pray without ceasing.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
