TITHE

I READ: Malachi 3:6-11

The book of Malachi stated that the nation of Israel deceived the Lord in their tithe (tenth) offering. This verse implicitly expressed how the tenth belongs to the Lord and must be given be back to God. God has commanded his children to give their tithe not because God is needy, but it symbolizes our faith in Him and to show Him that our heart lies with him as opposed to greed for money. More often, children of God refuses to give their tithe because they are focusing on their financial lack or believing that the church already has enough, or they believe that it is not their duty to give. We don’t realize that God’s blessing is poured out when we, as his children, are willing to give wholeheartedly and joyfully. When we are able to give willingly, His protection and grace will always guard our treasure and our lives. We will also experience endless miracles throughout our lives.

I DECLARE: 2 Corinthians 9:7: So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
