THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING

I READ: Colossians 3: 15 – 17: Acts 28: 15b

When everything is great, it is very easy to give thanks. But the Word of God teaches us to give thanks at all times – whether good or bad. In Paul’s ministry, he had many experiences – good and bad. There were times when Paul felt weary in his ministry, but he always came to the Lord and gave thanks. When Paul gave thanks, the Word of God says that “he took courage”, Acts 28:15b. Thanksgiving/gratitude brings strength. On the hand, sighing and grieving causes our strength to fail and our bones to waste away, Psalm 31:10. The choice is in our hands. If we want to experience victory, we have to stay strong. And in order to stay strong, we have to give thanks to the Lord at all times.

I DECLARE: Ephesians 5: 20: giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I DO: What actions am I going to take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
