Daily Verses: 1 Samuel 16:1-13
Key Verse: 1 Samuel 16:13: Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.
It is written in the Bible that when Samuel anointed David with Holy anointing oil, the Holy Spirit came upon David from that day forward. The Holy Spirit enabled him to do great things that he had never done before. For example, was the time when David had to face Goliath, a giant from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span (1 Samuel 17). While most seasoned, tough and brave Israeli soldiers were dismayed and greatly afraid; the Holy Spirit gave David the courage to confront Goliath. David defeated Goliath without any great effort; he confronted Goliath with the Lord on his side. Receiving God’s anointing is very important in our lives. The Holy Spirit will enable us to do great things for the Lord and we will witness many miraculous things. We will witness things that we have never seen in our lives and we will emerge victorious.
The anointing of the Holy Spirit will enable us to do great things for the Lord.

Today, I will spend time to pray, worship the Lord, read/meditate His words and also demonstrate His love to people around me.

Luke 4: 18-19: The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
