RELEASE OUR RIGHTS

I READ: Psalm 37:1-6

When the Lord Jesus was in the world, he never bragged about his rights as a child of God. When He was tempted in the desert, He could have proven to the devil that He was mighty enough to show His power but He did not do it. When He was mocked, oppressed, and treated unfairly, Jesus just stayed quiet and let Himself be crucified. Mother Theresa is a great example of how she set aside her rights to live comfortably and instead dedicated her life to take care of the poor and leper and those abandoned by the society. Releasing our rights is one of the symbols of spiritual maturity. Don’t feel entitled about our rights because we feel that we are righteous and deserve them. When we release our rights, then we will see how God’s defense and hands work through us.

I DECLARE: Proverbs 11:25 – The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
