PURE IN HEART

I READ: Psalms 24:1-6

The meaning of the word holy is clean, pure, with no stains or defects. It is not easy to have a pure or clean heart due to one’s heart that is influenced by his/her thoughts, what is heard, seen and experienced. Proverbs 4:23 says “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life”.  In order to have a pure heart, we need to master our minds with God’s Word because God’s Word will counter any negative things that the devil fires into our minds. In addition, do not let any negativity such as anger, hurt, resentment, envy enter into our hearts. If a feeling of negativity appears, discard it and replace it with a sense of all that is good, true and pleasing to God. The Lord is close to those who have a pure heart. If the Lord is near, then He will answer prayers.

I DECLARE: Matthew 5:8 – Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

I DO: What actions am I going to take after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
