PRAY IN THE SPIRIT

I READ: Acts 11:16, Acts 19:6, 1 Corinthians 14:2-14

In order for us to pray in the spirit we have to be baptized with the Holy Spirit, Acts 11:16. The baptism of the Holy Spirit first occurred during Pentecost with the disciples, Acts 2:1-4. When we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, one of the first sign we will experience is the language of the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongue), Acts 19:6. The Word of God affirms that when we speak in tongue it is our spirit that prays to God and not our mind, 1 Corinthian 14:4. No one understands the language of the Holy Spirit, not even the devil will understand it hence why he will not disrupt our lives. Praying in the language of the Holy Spirit is very powerful. Another advantage of speaking in tongue is that we are building ourselves, 1 Corinthians 14:4. We are building our spirit and faith so that we will be courageous when we have to enter prayer warfare.

I DECLARE: 1 Corinthians 14: 2 – For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
