OBEDIENCE

I READ: 2 Kings 5 : 1 – 14

Naaman was the commander of the army of the king of Syria.  He experienced continuous victories in the battlefield.  However there was one thing that always troubled him, he had leprosy. One day, a young girl from the land of Israel who waited on Naaman’s wife, suggested that Naaman go to Israel to meet with the prophet Elisha so that he can be healed.  And so Naaman went to meet the prophet Elisha in Israel.  Prophet Elisha asked Naaman to go and wash in the Jordan seven times.  When Naaman heard this, he became furious and refused to go to The Jordan River.  His servants reminded him to obey and to do exactly what was asked of him by the prophet Elisha.  So finally he obeyed and dipped himself seven times in The Jordan River.  At the seventh time, when he came out of the river, he found himself healed from leprosy.   It seems that obedience brought God’s miracle to Naaman’s life.  Not only did he experience victories in the battlefield, but because of his obedience, he also experienced victory in his life.

I DECLARE: 1 John 3 : 24 : Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him.

I DO: Today I will pray so that God gives me a new heart (Ezekiel 36:26), an obedient heart.

I PRAY: I will pray so that the Holy Spirit opens up opportunities for me to start to testify to those who are in my VIP List.  I also pray so that I will be able to say words of blessings to evey person that I meet today.
