OBEDIENCE

I READ: Genesis 39:1-23

Joseph’s story tells us how he lived his life as a slave and then became a convict. Joseph was someone who had a servant’s heart because even when he was degraded, he did not become angry or rebelled. Joseph faithfully did every task that was given to him, both in Potiphar’s house and the prison. Because of this attitude, the Lord was always with Joseph and made him successful in everything he did. In God’s time, Joseph’s life changed drastically; from someone who was a convict, he became second-in-command across Egypt. As God’s children, we must always have the character of a servant. A servant would not maintain his own will, but willing to follow His master’s command. Having an obedient heart, willing to be teachable and submissive are signs of humility.

I DECLARE: Philippians 2:8 – And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
