OBEDIENCE

I READ: Jonah 1:1-17, Jonah 2:9 – 10, Jonah 3

We can all obtain a very valuable lesson from the story of Jonah. Let us be obedient when God commanded us to be a witness and spread the gospel, do this immediately! Jonah rejected God’s calling for him to proclaim salvation and save the city of Nineveh. As a result, he was eaten by an enormous fish in which he stayed in its stomach for three days. At the end, he finally repented and followed God’s calling. If Jonah had not been obedient to God’s will, the city of Nineveh would have suffered God’s judgment because of their evil deeds and because they did not know God. Due to Jonah’s obedience, a whole city was saved and did not perish. Let us have great compassion and mercy for the lost souls. Let us be obedient without delay in spreading the gospel to all in need.

I DECLARE: Isaiah 6:8 – Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
