NAAMAN

Daily Verses: 2 Kings 5 : 1 – 14

Key Verse: 2 Kings 5 : 14 : So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.

Naaman was commander of the army of the king of Aram. He continually experience victory in battles. However, there was one thing that burdened his heart; he suffered from leprosy. One day, Naaman’s wife’s servant, who was from Israel, suggested that Naaman go to Israel to meet Prophet Elisha. Prophet Elijah told Naaman to wash himself 7 times in the Jordan river. When Naaman heard that, he became angry and did not want to do it. His servants, though, reminded him to just obey and do what Prophet Elisha had ordered him to do. In the end, Naaman obeyed and washed himself 7 times in the Jordan river. When he got out of the river on the seventh time, he found that his body was rid of leprosy. Obedience was the key for God’s miracle to happen in his life.

Obedience brings victory, just as Jesus was obedient by sacrificing Himself on the cross to receive victory over the devil.
