MAKING YOURSELF NOTHING

Daily Verses: Philippians 2:1-11.

Key Verse : Philippians 2:7: “…but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.”

Making yourself nothing means not viewing yourself as someone great, but rather that we are nothing or poor in spirit before the Lord (Matthew 5:3). People like this know that knowledge, degrees, positions, success, and blessings are all because of God’s grace. Having the attitude that only the Lord gives success, allows us to not develop pride in our hearts. Matthew 5:3 says that blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. The Lord knows that those who are humble will accept everything that happens in their life without complaining and can live peaceably with others. This pleases the Lord’s heart, so that the Lord will answer the prayers of a humble person, and the Lord will give what is best for that person. Let us have a humble heart because there are some messages that will only be revealed to those with one.

Someone with a humble heart will see others above themselves.
