LOWERED SELF-VALUE

Daily Verses : 2 Samuel 6 : 14 – 23

Key Verse : 2 Samuel 6 : 21 – 22 : “It was before the LORD, who chose me instead… Therefore I will play music before the LORD… And I will be even more undignified than this…”

King David is someone who truly loves the Lord in his life, and He put the Lord above all things. With a very honorable position as a king, he still put the Lord above all things. When he moved the Ark of the Covenant to the city of David, he danced with all his might because of his love for the Lord. He did not care about his position as a king, because what becomes the center is the presence of the Lord in his life. David was looked down and humiliated by his wife, Michal, because of what he did for the Lord. For him, self-value does not compare to the Lord’s presence in his life. When we put Jesus as the center of our lives, our focus will no longer be on ourselves. Jesus has poured out His blood for us so that we become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, 2 Corinthians 5:21. As those who have been made righteous, we don’t need to worry about what people are saying about us, because they are not our focus, but it is the Lord.

Let us move our focus from ourselves to the Lord Jesus.
