Daily Verses : Philippians 4 : 1-9
Key Verse : Philippians 4 : 4,6 : Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Paul reminded the church in Philippi to always be joyful and thankful, no matter what happens in their lives. He reminded them to never worry or be anxious in life. At the time, Paul advised them because they started to worry about him, since he was in jail for quite some time for boldly preaching the Gospel and was not yet set free. Paul reminded them that even though he faced difficult problems, he still wanted to rejoice and give thanks and urged the church in Philippi to do the same. Paul taught them to always rejoice and give thanks. They needed to always be filled with Christ’s thoughts. He taught them to only think about whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, verse 8. Not to think about negative things because that will weaken their faith causing it to be even more difficult to rejoice and be thankful. If our thoughts are filled with Christ’s thoughts then what we say will also be different. We will say whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, etc. We will declare God’s Word and His Word that we hear will lift our faith.
Always think positively and according to God’s Word then your life will be spared of stress and worry.
