IT IS FINISHED

Daily Verses: Isaiah 53: 1 – 12

Key Verse: John 19: 30: So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

All of Isaiah 53 illustrates Jesus’ suffering on the cross. Jesus’ last words on the cross were, “It is finished!” This phrase originated from the Greek word teleo, which means the debt has been paid off in full. When Jesus died on the cross, He paid off all of our debt of sins in full. The Lord Jesus has finished all of this for us. We cannot finish all of our debt of sins with our own strength. Through His work on the cross, all of our sins have been forgiven, and now we are people who have been made right because of His blood and we are now people who have the right to receive all of the heavenly blessings. The Lord has done His part, now our part is to only believe His work and receive it in faith. These days, if we are experiencing problems, trust that everything has already been borne by Jesus on the cross. All of our sins, sicknesses, curses have been finished and have been borne by the Lord, so that that there is no longer anything that is impossible for us. Victory is now our part.

By His blood, the debt of sin has been paid off in full. Starting today, let us walk as His redeemed people.
