HUMBLE

I READ: 1 Samuel 13: 8-14

Throughout the old testament, God’s commandment was being sent forward through His prophet, even during Saul’s time as the first king of Israel.  God conveyed His commandment through a prophet named Samuel. God was not pleased with Saul because he was prideful and did not obey the Word of God.  Saul was supposed to wait for Samuel to come and offer the sacrifice, but when Samuel did not arrive, pridefully Saul offered the sacrifice himself.  He thought that as a king, he was at the same level/position as a prophet.  He was very egoistic and did not honor Samuel, which meant that he did not honor the Lord as well. What Saul had done resulted in a division between him and Samuel.  The Lord was not pleased with this and He rejected Saul as the king of Israel.

I DECLARE: Psalm 25:9 – The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray for my spiritual family IBC Church and for my ministry there as well.
