I READ: 1 Chronicles 16 : 1-6, 17:11-15
During the time of Eli, the high priest, the Ark of the Covenant was in the possession of the Philistines due to careless treatment. The Ark of the Covenant represented the Lord’s presence. The Philistines suffered misfortune as plague after plague struck the city. After keeping the Ark for seven months they decided to return it to the Israelites and it was brought back to Kiryat Yearim in Israel. The Ark remained in Abinadab’s house for 20 years and It was also neglected during the reign of King Saul. As a result of this inattentiveness, the Israelites lived in hardships. At the beginning of his reign, King David brought the Ark back to Jerusalem and the Ark was highly regarded. King David honored the presence of the Lord and what he did pleased the Lord. As a result, the Lord blessed Israel throughout David’s lifetime and even into the lifetime of David’s son, Solomon.
I DECLARE: Psalms 42:1 – As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for you, O God.
I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?
I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
