GIVING THANKS

I READ : Psalm 100

It is easy to give thanks when everything is going our way or when everything seems great. But Psalm 100 is a psalm of thanksgiving that was written to be sung/lifted up even in hard times. Remember the story of the Israelites when they were told to march around the tall and great wall of Jericho, Joshua 6?
God commanded the Israelites to walk around the city for 6 days quietly and on the 7th day, they had to blow the trumpets and shout in rejoice. They rejoiced when the wall of Jericho was still standing tall before them. Because there is power in thanksgiving, they were able to destroy the wall just by shouting and blowing of the trumpets. So when we lift up thanksgiving to the Lord, we will be able to destroy the “walls” of our problems and have victory as a result.

I DECLARE : 2 Corinthians 2 : 14a : Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ.

I DO : What actions am I going to take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY : Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit.
