GIVE THANKS

I READ: John 6:1-15

Acquiring a grateful heart is an earmark of having a heart transformation.  When Jesus walked on earth he performed the miracle of feeding the 5,000 people not including their wives and children.  Provided with five loaves and two fish, they all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.  This miracle happened right after Jesus took the loaves of bread and fish and gave thanks to the Father in Heaven.  There is great power in giving thanks.  Thanksgiving precedes great miracles.  In a different manner, for 40 years the Israelites wandered in the wilderness and spent most of their life with complains and thanklessness.  At the end of the story, their generation wasn’t allowed to enter and enjoy the blessings of their promised land.

I DECLARE: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 – In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
