DO YOU WANT TO BE WELL?

I READ: John 5:1-9

There were many people with illnesses sitting by the Pool of Bethesda.  They were all waiting for the Angel of the Lord to come down and stir the pool water.  They believed that the first person who touches the water will be healed of his/her disease.  During that time, Jesus saw a lame man sitting by the pool and asked him if he wanted to be made well.  He did not answer “Yes” but instead, he provided Jesus with all the excuses and complaints of why he was unable to get into the pool before anyone else.  He was not aware that he was speaking with the Healer Himself.  If he knew, he did not have to jump into the pool to be healed.  Often times, we are like that man, where we see our burdens are greater than our Lord Jesus.  We often complain and provide all the reason why we are not able to get out of our current situation.  We do not acknowledge our Lord who is in front of us, ready to give us an answer.

I DECLARE: John 5:6 – “… He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”.

I DO: What action will I take today after meditating on the Word of God?

I PRAY: Pray as guided by the Holy Spirit
