BUILD A RELATIONSHIP

I READ: Psalms 27 : 4-6 ; 13-14

While waiting for Jesus’ second coming, we are asked to have an intimate relationship with the Father in Heaven. Often times, our time is wasted doing other things rather than entering into His presence and enjoying His goodness and love. It is a fact that from the beginning, God’s desire is for human beings to be good friends with Him. Why is this the case? It is because He wants to reveal His glory to those who have a good relationship with Him. David said in Psalm 25:14 –  The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant. The fear of the Lord allows us to build an intimate relationship with Him. God has opened up Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ so that we can get to know him at a deeper level. The question now is, are we placing all of our needs and activities of this world above the need to be more intimate with the Lord? If we’re doing so, we have not put God as number one in our lives. What we have to do now is associate more with God, involve God more in all aspects of our lives and diligently pray and meditate on His Word. Lastly, we have to always honor Him through our actions, body, and the things we say.

I DECLARE: Job 29: 4: “…. When the friendly counsel of God was over my tent.”

I DO: In order to continuously have an intimate relationship with the Lord, my family and I will set aside time to prioritize God in our lives.

I PRAY: I will declare the Word of God so that America will turn back from its wicked ways, return to God, and be a nation that is pleasing in the Lord’s heart.
