BEING GRATEFUL

I READ: John 6: 1- 15

Jesus once made an incredible miracle which was feeding 500 men, plus their families, with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, and he even had 12 basketfuls left. This incredible miracle happened when Jesus took the bread and fish and gave thanks to the Father in Heaven. It turns out that there’s great power in giving thanks. Giving thanks births miracles. If we see the lives of the Israelites when they were in the desert for 40 years, their everyday lives were filled with complaints and no thanksgiving. The result of this was that they weren’t able to get into the promised land of blessings and abundance. All of them died in the desert and only saw the promised land (God’s promise) from afar. Let these two stories teach us an important lesson: the importance of always giving thanks so God’s blessings won’t be blocked from us.

I DECLARE: 1 Thessalonians 5: 18: give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus

I DO:  I will take some time to contemplate on all of God’s goodness that has happened in my life and give thanks for all of it.

I PRAY: I will contemplate on God’s love for me. I will contemplate on God’s sacrifice on the cross, and I will give thanks to Him.
