Daily Verses : 1 Timothy 6
Key Verse : 1 Timothy 6 : 2b : Teach and exhort these things.
Paul gave a few last advices to Timothy for him to teach the congregation that was given to him in the last chapter from his first letter. One of the advices is for children of God and how their lifestyle should reflect the glory and light of God. For example, children of God should become a blessing and testimony to their leaders in their workplace, verse 1-2. Paul also reminded us that as children of God, we are encouraged to avoid arguments and gossips, verse 4-5. In our daily lives, we shouldn’t fall into the temptation of loving money and wanting to become rich. As it is stated in verse 9-10, the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Because of their greediness for money, a few children of God have strayed from their faith. There are a lot of people who prioritize their jobs instead of spiritual things or things that deal with God.
The word of God says that we are not going to bring anything from this world into heaven later on, verse 7, we are only going to bring heavenly treasures that we collect when we are serving the Lord in this world. So don’t focus on worldly riches, but instead, let God be the center/focus of our lives. Paul said fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life. That is why God has created and called us into this world.
Pursue only heavenly treasures and not worldly possessions because those are the things that we’re going to take to heaven.
Daily Action :
Today I will pray and ask for the Holy Spirit to give me new anointing so that I can become a light for this dark world, for my co-workers, for my school, for my family, and etc.
Daily Declaration :
1 Timothy 6 : 12 : Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Daily Prayer :
Today I will pray with my family in unity and pray for the items that are in our prayer list.
